Posted on 03/19/2018
Students from West Monroe and West Ouachita High Schools recently attended the fourth annual Career Confidence Fair. The program is presented through a collaboration between the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and the Ouachita Parish School System. The conference focused on teaching students those soft skills that can help them find and keep gainful employment. College and business leaders from the area spoke to students about writing a winning resume, mastering an interview, appropriate social media networking, and dressing for success--which included a fashion show featuring ULM students. Sponsors for the program included Entergy, University of Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Delta Community College, and Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union. Speakers were from ULM Career Connections Center, Blake Wheelis State Farm, Entergy, Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union, CenturyLink, and Spherion Staffing.
